Structure of tapered roller bearings



Tapered roller bearings consist of outer ring, inner ring, rollers and cage. The rolling elements of the bearing are tapered rollers, which are guided by the inner ring back rib on the large end face of the roller. The raceway surfaces of the inner and outer rings and the rolling contact surfaces of the rollers are designed so that their respective vertices are at a point on the bearing centerline. Bearings are classified into standard type, intermediate type and steep type according to the contact angle (α). The larger the contact angle, the greater the resistance of the bearing to axial loads.
